Artist Profile

Esad Halilovic works as a jazz drummer, composer and teacher in Vienna, Austria.

He has been acclaimed for his album Merak, which translated traditional folk music from the Balkans into the language of contemporary jazz.

Playing in a trio, he has presented his compositions at renowned international jazz festivals such as the Jazz Plaza International Festival in Cuba, the famous Hong Kong International Jazz Festival, the Beishan Jazz Festival in China, the One Jazz Festival in Romania, and many others.

He has received multiple awards from the Austrian ministry of culture and education for his masterclasses and musical workshops.
