Artist Profile

Naresh Prajapati is one of Nepal’s most sought-after percussionists, and a specialist on Madal Tarang.

Naresh studied traditional Nepali percussion under the maestros Nuchhe Bhadur Dangol and Rabin Lal Shrestha, and can play the madal, tabla, dholak, shimmy and khi.

He holds two masters degree in fine arts and culture from Tribhuvan University, and has performed at various prestigious venues and festivals around the world.

He has also recorded with numerous top musicians, and his work appears on albums such as Nareshaniharris (created with Harris from Greece), Nepal by Vairabi, and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia Live! in Nepal.

As a veteran of the music industry in Nepal, now with more than 15 years of experience, he has contributed immensely to preserving the tradition of Nepali drumming in our modern age.
